With the arrival of spring, athletes and performers alike have much to anticipate. For the Liberty North Choir, that anticipation was focused on preparing for the Large Ensemble Contests held in the spring. On April 6, the time had come for the Liberty North choir groups to show what they were made of.
“Our main focus is to work as a group and figure out what we need to fix,” sophomore Gaby Terrell said.
Once the day of the contest came, the choirs had to be ready. They would be performing their prepared sets in front of a panel of judges, who would grade them accordingly and rate them, with a “1+” being the highest
“Whenever it comes down to contest, and having to put 110 percent in, it doesn’t matter what mood you’re in or what energy you have; you still have to put a smile on your face and sing,” sophomore Talerra Williams said.
On Saturday, weeks of perfecting harmony and preventing cacophony were put to the test. The preparation had paid off. The Concert and Chamber choirs received ratings in the “1” superior category, and the Women’s choir received ratings in the “2” excellent category.
