American Sniper Review

American Sniper was an incredible movie. I loved every minute of it. Bradley Cooper delivered a stellar performance as Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in the history of the American military. The movie follows the true story of Kyle who served 4 tours of duty in Iraq, was in constant danger from the enemy because of his talent as a marksman, and saved countless lives during the course of his service to the United States.

Clint Eastwood directed the movie based on the book of the same title, an autobiography written by Kyle about his experiences. One of the reasons the film was so good was how realistic it was; I felt like it showed a heartbreaking, intense, and very realistic portrayal of the things that the American public do not get to see very often. Simply put, this is one of those rare movies that will stick with you for a very long time after you leave the theater. Cooper’s performance showcased a man torn between his duty to his country, his love of his family, and the horrors of the war going on in Iraq.

I loved this movie. There was never a boring moment; but there was never a truly happy moment either. The cast was fantastic and Eastwood did an amazing job in catching all the details and accurately portraying this story. I would highly recommend that everyone goes and sees this movie. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t a fan of war movies because while the main storyline focuses on the war, there is also an emphasis on honor and family and love; this is a film that you won’t want to miss out on.
