Whether a first time voter, a strong Democrat, a strong Republican, or even someone who does not pay attention to politics, everyone has some kind of opinion on the election, and the outcome of the election that took play yesterday on November 6, 2012.
President Barack Obama came out victorious with 303 electoral votes to Mitt Romney’s 206. Obama will be our president again, for the next four years. These results gave some Americans great hope for our countries future.
“I was very excited about the outcome of the election because I feel like it is what is best for our nation,” senior Josh Koch said.
Others were not so pleased with the results.
“I am upset, confused, and disappointed that Obama won. I don’t really even have words to describe my feelings,” junior Jackson Triplett said.
This election was many students first experience with voting, and some even encountered problems with the process.
“I was really nervous to vote for the first time. The counting machine broke as I was about to put my ballot in, so that was not good. I didn’t really care too much about the outcome, I was just excited to vote for the first time,” senior Micaela Patterson said.
Some students even stayed up to watch President Obama’s acceptance speech.
“Obama’s acceptance speech was very motivational and inspiring. It showed a lot of hope for our nation and gave me a positive attitude for the years to come,” Koch said.
Whether you love it or hate it, Obama will be America’s President for the next four years.
