Teenage Driving
As teenagers, driving to school is considered a necessity. Riding the bus to school is not ideal for everyone like it was in Elementary and Middle school. If you are sixteen and have a license and a car, bets are you are driving to school and would never trade that for the bus. Problem with this is we are only sixteen years old. Are we too young to be held with the responsibility to get to and from school? When you are surrounded with your peers, bad decisions are more likely to be made. So when we fill a parking lot with over 200 sixteen, seventeen, and maybe eighteen year olds, the odds don’t look good. We are too young to all be on the same roads without some sort of adult drivers around us. We are young and still haven’t experienced enough about driving to not have experienced drivers around us. Driving to school is fun but dangerous and for some people they can not catch a bus or have extra curricular activities after school so driving is really important. We need to think about who we are giving parking passes to, these are kids barely out of middle school and need time to experience driving before all put together. Some kids need exceptions but not every eager, road hungry sixteen year old needs to be driving themselves to school. It’s not safe. As we are in the day and age where it’s considered a necessity, be safe when you are driving, you are young and people around you are young
