As the first semester comes to a close, finals begin to make their appearance. With this, studying may be the key to success. Below, is a list of studying habits that may help you along for your finals.
Spaced Repetition. This studying method consists of learning in intervals. For example, studying for 1–2 hours a day instead of cramming for ten hours the night before or even the day of. Overall, spacing out the time to study increases a persons’ ability to retain information.
Flashcards. Creating flashcards is a great tool for memorization. Through recalling the pictures, and/or words on a flashcard, it helps increase both short-term and long-term memory.
Study Groups. This method is done through getting a group together who are learning the same topic as yourself. This creates a great environment for teamwork, problem-solving, and answering questions.
SQ3R Method. Also known as, Study, Question, Read, Recite, Review, helps students apply their knowledge and understand it on a deeper level. This studying method is usually applied when reading books or articles.
