My First Last

I have been apart of the Women’s Tennis Team here at North for all four years of my high school career. This past Tuesday night was our banquet, aka the official end of tennis for me. I’ve been told that seniors go through their “lasts” The last first day of school, last home football game, last homecoming, etc. For me all those things won’t be over, because I’ll get to enjoy the college versions of all of those. But I experienced my first real last Tuesday night. Hearing my coaches say all these nice things about me and give me hugs and give me my final letter and bar to put on my letterman jacket, I begun to think about life without tennis. I didn’t get very far because well it’s been such a huge part of me. Tennis has become a part of who I am and it’s built all the qualities I hold. This season was probably my favorite, getting to lead along side some of my best friends was a dream come true. Getting to play the number 1 spot was although tough but something I really enjoyed getting to do. I will forever be grateful for all my coaches have taught me over the past four years and will always hold tennis close to my heart. To my fellow seniors; enjoy all your lasts. To my fellow non-seniors; enjoy everything high school has to offer you.
