This year, Liberty North’s Homecoming is themed Disco Fever! Tickets are on sale the week of the event, and students are getting excited. The dance is held in the gym, and students will be in attendance with dates or groups of friends. The week of homecoming, there will be a spirit week and various festivities, including a homecoming assembly, Nest Fest, and a football match v.s Blue Springs South. The week ends off with the dance, and students have mixed feelings about the theme.
“I love the homecoming theme this year because we all get to wear sparkly, bright colors and feel our best!” Senior Layla Foutz said.
However, some students think the theme could use some adjustments.
“The homecoming theme should be something that makes students excited for the dance and for spirit weekm but I don’t think many students care for it this year. I feel like the same themes are constantly being used and the student body has more unique ideas, but they still use the ones that are overused and boring!” Senior Mackeznie Mills said.
Students are also varying in the plans for the dance.
“For HOCO, me and my friend are going to eat at a casual restaurant called Texas Roadhouse. We are going to Texas Roadhouse because of the super good rolls they have and the cool environment the restaurant has.” said Freshman Dillon VonGunten
Students don’t only vary in the casualty of their dinner plans, but groups of all different pairings will be in attendance.
“My group for homecoming has some pairs going as dates- some of them are couples and some are just going as friends. We also have some people just going alone but still with the group. I think it’s cool to have a dynamic group like that where you can not have a date or have a date and no one really cares, and there’s other people who have dates and other people who don’t have dates.” said Freshman Dade Nielson.
No matter how students celebrate homecoming, all parties can thank the Navy for their hard work in planning this year’s Disco Fever themed homecoming.
