Crowded hallways are something that almost every school struggles with, especially bigger areas. Plenty of students believe that it’s difficult to get to their next class due to hallway traffic, this is because of multiple reasons.
“People will be talking and stopping and you have to try and sneak through them, but I usually make it to my classes pretty early. I feel that I walk a lot faster than most other people. Most other people want to talk to friends while in the halls so it makes sense why they’re a little late,” senior Logan Mcqueen said.
Because of the walking pace in the hallways, some students have a difficult time getting to their classes.
“I feel like people walk really slow and then it’s just really hard to get to places, because of the traffic,” freshman Scarlet Wepler said.
Many students believe that something should be done to help improve the crowded hallways.
“I would stagger people’s passing periods. So, put seniors off at one time, and juniors at another and I wish that passing periods were longer because it would make it easier to get from class to class and I wouldn’t be in as much of a rush. Plus I feel like our teachers get frustrated when you ask them to go to the bathroom during class but I feel like in our passing periods we don’t have enough time,” freshman Sophie Wickham said.
Some freshmen would say that getting around the school that first week wasn’t too bad and most were able to get to class on time.
“I’m never late. I feel like people walk really slow which makes it just really hard to turn into places, because of the traffic. That’s the hardest part of my day,” Wepler said.
With the chaos of hallway traffic, it can be difficult to move around in any direction other than forward.
“There’s so many people everywhere all over the school but especially the main hallway. Like if you’re trying to go across the small hallway to cut over you physically can’t because of how crowded it is,” freshman Sophia Kromeich said.
