Getting Ready For College
With current juniors signing up for classes for senior year, stress for the graduating class of 2019 could be a little high. It seems to be the norm to hold off prepping for college until mid way through your senior year but for many, starting earlier could lead to many advantages. Here are five tips to have a productive and successful junior year to help prep you for whatever college you chose.

Go on college visits! The earlier you start touring colleges, the better. With so many different kinds of schools it can be hard to know what you like. Going to a few colleges before your senior year can help you figure out what your needs and wants for a college is.
-
Some colleges require or recommend different courses than what are required for high school. Make sure to check in with the colleges admission to see if this is the case for you.
-
Go into classes that reflect your career interests. Knowing what you want to study in school will help you narrow down which college you’d like to attend.
-
Join the A+ program. The A+ program gives you free two years of community college if you serve the community and withhold good attendance. If you’re interested in community college the A+ program can increase your financial situation and decrease dept.
-
Avoid senioritis going into your senior year. Senioritis is when you’re so excited to graduate that you’re attendance and grades start to suffer because you’re so close. This can be detrimental to scholarships that you will be offered.
