Dealing With Dry Skin and Hair
As the cold weather is approaching, many students have started noticing minor changes in their appearances. A few remedies to help decrease the effects of the harsh weather change can often be found in the kitchen.
One way to help improve the skin’s dryness is the egg yolk mask. Egg yolks contains fat-enriched vitamins A and E, which can help moisturize the skin. This mask is pretty simple- one must simply whip an egg yolk and spread it over the face and keep it there for at least fifteen minutes. As repulsive as it may seem, applying raw egg yolks to the hair directly after washing can help the hair gain its bouciness back. The fat and moisture from the egg will immediately absorb into the skin’s pores.
Along with having dry skin, another commonly experienced issue with the fall temperatures is the dry, brittle hair. This is because the harsh, cold winds can strip the hair of its natural oils it needs to stay hydrated.
A homemade remedy useful for moisturizing hair is the mayonnaise mask. Mayonnaise contains properties that are oily and greasy, which is great for dry hair. To do this mask, spreading plain mayonnaise throughout the hair and letting it soak for at least ten minutes is all it takes. After ten minutes, rinse thoroughly.
Many can agree upon the fact that dry skin and hair are a nuisance, but these simple tips can help get the skin and hair’s appearance back to normal.
