Carolin Basaric
Every year, Liberty North accepts several foreign exchange students to the school. Carolin Basaric is one of the few German students attending Liberty North this school year.
“My cousin was an exchange student in New Zealand and he really liked it so I decided to do it too, but in America. You hear so much about America in the news, good and bad things. I thought it seemed cool,” sophomore Carolin Basaric said.
As expected, Basaric is facing many differences in her American life than in her German one.
“Everything is different. The food is different because you have a lot of fast food here. The school is really different too. There are a lot more options here. The school system is really different in Germany- you can’t choose as many classes. Like we don’t have Child Development or Photography in Germany,” Basaric said.
As for the school itself, Basaric seems to be enjoying herself.
“I really like Liberty North. The people are friendly and I like how the school is so modern. Everything about America is good so far. There isn’t anything I really hate,” Basaric said.
