Volleyball Senior Night is an annual tradition held by schools everywhere, specifically it is to celebrate and congratulate senior students on their hardwork and dedication to volleyball throughout the years. The Liberty North seniors include Ella Morgan, Lauren Wright, Emmy Seiler, Jenna Burroughs, Sophia Derenzy, and Carlie Cisneros.
Senior Night was held on October 10th 2023. They won in 4 sets playing against Lee Summit West. Winning isn’t new to Liberty North Volleyball, but winning tonight was extra big for the seniors.
“I cherish every moment I have with this team, especially as our time together comes to an end, but I know we will always be a family and will always have each other’s backs,” Senior Emmy Seiler said.
A tradition at senior night is for every senior to personally customize a table that is set up near entry. Many of the girls laid out metals, awards, letterman jackets, pictures, and candy for people to admire. The girls being able to showcase a big part of their lives into a little table can be difficult but, many of the girls get crafty and end up with a beautiful display.
“My work ethic has done nothing but gotten better since i’ve gotten here and I think the support from everyone has driven me to be both the best student and athlete,” Senior Lauren Wright said.
Although some seniors’ volleyball careers are coming to an end they especially like to think about the people who got them where they are today. Having a supporting team especially on such a special night, helped make very senior shine.
“This team has taught me how to be encouraging, how to communicate well, and how to be a great friend.” Seiler said.
