Liberty North Women’s Soccer
Women’s Soccer Season
This is the twelfth year of the women’s soccer team at Liberty North High School.
“I started coaching in 1995; this is my 26th year of coaching but my twelfth season at Liberty North,” head coach Steven Person said.
The coaches have been holding player meetings to get the players all of the information they need and to get them excited for the season.
“I’m most excited for the team culture. The team that we have grown and developed over the years has always been super close and the friendships that we make are so amazing. Coming together as a new team and seeing new talent as well as new players is always fun,” senior Ekaterina Theoharidis said.
The tryouts of this coming women’s soccer season begin February 27. In the meantime, the players are preparing themselves for tryouts.
“I’m preparing for tryouts by continuing to attend and participate in events with my club team as well as participating in high school futsal on Sundays and indoor games with our player-led high school indoor teams. In addition to this, I am planning on doing some technical work on my own as well as some individual conditioning,” senior Emilee Person said.
In addition to the players preparing themselves, the coaches are also getting themselves for the up-and-coming soccer period.
“I’m preparing by going to pre-season workouts, but also building relationships with all of the girls from all levels. Also, I’m making sure to get the environment to be really fun, getting them ready and also making sure that they are preparing themselves to prevent injuries,” assistant coach Katy Lindsey said.
