Womens Tennis Senior Night

Over the past four years, these girls have been a part of a team that feels like family to them. Thursday night they will play their last home match. There career begun freshman year and now they will walk across the court with their senior banner in their hand and say goodbye to the tennis courts.

“It’s crazy to think that it’s my last year of tennis for high school. Ever since freshman year it’s all I’ve known, and it’s all I’ve looked forward to,” senior Sullivan Nevins said

For four years they have learned things on and off the court. They’ve learned leadership, teamwork, friendship, and how to be a rock.

“It is very bittersweet to be a senior on the team. While we are leaders, we are also trying to enjoy our “lasts” of the season as well,” senior Avery Covey said.

This year the seniors have been able to step up and be the leaders of 22 girls. From freshman to juniors the girls lead with kindness, sternness, and empathetic. They learn a lot from being on the team for four years.

“Being on the team all four years has really taught me how to be a team player and to slowly become a leader for senior year,” Nevins said.

Overall, senior night is an emotional event altogether for these seniors. This is the night the seniors will warm up on their home courts and play their last home match.

“I’m expecting to cry a lot. I don’t want it to end. We are such a close-knit team and I don’t want to leave it behind,” Covey said.
