GloWild is an annual event they have at the Kansas City zoo where they have lit up displays covering certain sections of their zoo at night. This event took place from September 28th through December 30th every night from 6 to 10 pm so visitors can have the best experience of the intricate, illuminated displays. The route is about a mile long and is filled with vibrant animal and scenery displays. This year’s theme was “around the world” where they show-cased the different countries their resident animals came from including Asia, Europe, Africa, and the United states. All of the displays are large and made of metal and brightly colored silk to best capture the rainbow of colors in the dark. Families can also purchase gifts such as glow sticks, glow necklaces and bracelets, and glow wands to help keep little kids entertained and pleased. The necklaces and wands come with animal figurines like monkeys and polar bears. The event is for all ages and for anyone with accessibility needs, motorized wheelchairs are provided for a more enjoyable experience.
