Halloween comes from the ancient Celtic holiday known as Samhain (SAH-WIN) used to celebrate the harvest that comes at the end of the summer. Since then we have put more modern twists on the traditions of dressing up, carving radishes, and giving out treats. In the past few years, we’ve seen lots of popular movies from that year influencing people’s Halloween costumes. We saw this with movies like Despicable Me, Suicide Squad, and Mean Girls. Here are some costumes I’m predicting to see this Halloween.
In the first place, we have The Barbie Movie, an empowering movie for women with some very popular actors, it will be no surprise to me to see lots of cowboy Barbie or stereotypical Barbies out on Halloween. But if you’re planning on doing this costume, don’t pass up the opportunity to say “Hi Barbie” to every other Barbie you pass on the streets.
In second place, I’m predicting Ghostface and any of the characters from the first movie or the two most recent installments in the Scream series. Yes, this costume has been popular in previous years, however, I think we’re all gonna see it again this year since they’ve been coming out with more movies that have been pretty popular with the fans and have even grown the fanbase.
And last but not least, The Five Nights At Freddy’s movie. The fan base of these games is huge, so many people in different age groups love these scary games. On October 27 the “FNAF” movie will reach theaters and I predict that the characters and animatronics in the movie will be a lot of people’s last-minute decisions on what they want to be for Halloween.
