I love blueberries. I think blueberries are the absolute best fruit. I think I like blueberries so much because even if they’re tart, they’re easy to pop into my mouth in huge handfuls. I think they’re so good that they absolutely topple other popular fruits like mangoes or pomegranates.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe that all fruits are inherently good, but I can’t pick anything other than blueberries to represent my favorite because they’re simply the best.
One specific thing I love about blueberries besides their taste is their color, that shade of velvety blue or purple that they become when they’re sweet and ripe brings me so much joy.
Blueberries are sometimes very sour, but when they’re delicious, they’re delicious. There is nothing that compares to the sweet taste of a good blueberry.
Blueberries are also amazing in whatever pastry you put them in. Whether it’s bagels, donuts, muffins, scones, or danishes, nothing pairs as good with sweet bread as a blueberry does.
Blueberries also have a very unique harvesting window. They can be harvested from April to July in the south, June through October in the midwest, and April through October in the west. Every place can enjoy the raw joy that comes from blueberries annually, which is always fun for the whole family.
Blueberries are also the perfect size to snack on. I have eaten dozens of containers with blueberries inside of them in a single day with absolutely no remorse. A fruit that small and that easy to put into my mouth is destined to get into my stomach immediately.
Blueberries are the absolute perfect fruit and I love them with my entire heart. I cannot imagine a world without this fruit, nor a world where I am not capable of eating truck-loads of them every single day.
