The long awaited Five Nights at Freddy’s movie finally made it to theaters on October 27th. There was a lot of excitement that this triggered in the Five Nights at Freddy’s game fanbase. However since the movie’s release there has been a lot of criticism and disappointment. The famous Youtuber Jacksepticeye said to The Mary Sue,”I really like the first two games and the lore of everything but the movie felt a bit rushed in some places and pretty standard in others, had a couple of cool moments though.” 

   Youtuber Markiplier was supposed to make an appearance in the movie’s opening scene in which a man is killed by the animatronic Freddy, however he had to drop out of the movie due to him making a movie of his own. However Matt Patt, another youtuber who is known for his theories on food, games, and movies including his many videos decoding the lore behind the game makes an appearance in the movie as a server at a restaurant. 

   The movie hasn’t quite been able to live up to the hype it was given so far, it’s not very gory or scary but it does have a couple good moments when revealing some of the backstory. It’s also really cool to get to finally see the animatronics come to life on screen in a movie in a way the first game doesn’t quite do.
