Drake’s new hit album, For All the Dogs, was released on October 6th, 2023. While the media has been throwing out opinions left and right, I have developed some of my own. These are my top 10 from the album.
“Calling for You”- I like the audio feature, but I wish it wasn’t in the middle. It totally breaks up the song. Still good.
“Fear of Heights”- Probably my favorite one on the album. It’s not too trashy like Rich Baby Daddy, and the beat is crazy. It’s extremely memorable.
“Daylight”- Another favorite, I think the end with a clip from Drake’s son’s song is actually way cute and catchy.
“First Person Shooter” (feat. J. Cole)- this is the most popular one on the album, and rightfully so. Very catchy and clever, hard beat, incredible duo.
“IDGAF” (feat. Yeat)- everyone on TikTok likes to pretend that Yeat carried. I mean Yeat killed, but no one is listening to Drake’s verse. Sure, everyone got a kick out of “money for fun!” But did Yeat hit us with that first verse… didn’t think so.
“7969 Santa”- makes me feel all sassy, I loveee this one. I like the interlude at the end and how catchy the whole thing is. “Since I had some space to myself, I typed some s**t, then I erased what I felt, that talk we had the other day didn’t help.” Okay, Folklore! It’s giving lyrical and emotionally in-touch!
“Slime You Out” (feat. SZA)- TBH this could be better, but, SZA!
“Bahamas Promises”- another lyrical one, “And for someone you don’t miss, I sure feel like somebody you need, Hailey, You ain’t got nowhere to be, It’s ’cause you should’ve been with me, The list of things we could’ve been, d**m. Guess I’ll see you in my dreams.” Also Drake’s vocals kinda hit here.
“Polar Opposites”- This song is so well written. “It’s plenty people dead to me still breathing, plenty other ways to get over people, you ain’t had to step on me to gain freedom.” Like okay say less!!
“Another Late Night” (feat. Lil Yachty)- This chorus actually cracks me up. He doesn’t know how to refer to his girlfriend when he doesn’t call her a b***h, then ends up settling on dawg. Kills me. Why can’t men just be cutsey. Anyways, this song isn’t incredible, but I like it.
Drake has recently announced that he will be touring next year with J Cole, stopping in Kansas City in March.
