“One of the many iconic duos of DC’s universe and complex relationships in their respective comics + films is Batman and Joker. The two have been at it for decades from their first meeting in Joker’s debut comic Batman #1 in April of 1940 where Joker was originally gonna be a one time villain not Batman’s greatest enemy.
Though that’s only going from the perspective taken from Batman comics, the films nearly have the same kind of chemistry. In thr Batman from 1966-1968 Joker is more so as a prankster than sinister and Batman does more so of 60’s antics in his detective crime solving ways. The show’s audience was aimed towards kids since this was the way many people came to know Batman and Joker.
Through the mid seventies, Joker became a well known and prominent enemy of Batman in the comics. Some years later it’s now 1989 the year of Tim Burton’s Batman film starring Micheal Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson’s Joker. Burton wanted to take Batman into more of a darker shade for storytelling like the way he was meant to be.
It’s 1992 and Warner Bros. Animation releases Batman The Animated Series. The series recreated many of Batman’s villains backstories though most importantly had Mark Hamil’s Joker and Kevin Conroy’s Batman. There were only 14 episodes of Joker in the series yet the other iconic enemies duo still had enough memorable moments. Now its 2008 audiences were reintroduced to Christain Bale’s Batman and introduced to the late Heath Ledger’s Joker, the main antagonist of this Batman movie. His performance as Joker was as creepy and intriguing as possible.
Many fans often argue who’s the best Batman and Joker duo from films and or comics. BatJokes is the popular ship fans adore about the iconic two. Regardless of what you say about either of them, the Caped Crusader or The Clown Prince Of Crime, one thing is for certain,”I think you and I are destined to do this forever,” Joker The Dark Knight.
