Music is a way of expression that can come from many different places and cultures. Music not only helps people connect but also helps people communicate. Whether music is energetic or solemn, music is widely used.
At the first assembly at North, a band named “Polarized” performed. They are made up of 5 members and love playing together. They began playing together a few years ago. Jonas Tucker shares how he met his bandmates.
“It started when Preston and I were in middle school, once we hit high school I found out Preston had a brother and we started to bond. Ever since I met Evan, Gabe, Preston, and Zaiden, we just clicked,” Tucker said.
Many people can deal with anxiety when performing in front of people, Polarized had to play in front of the entire school. One of the band members, however, wasn’t nervous at all.
“I wasn’t anxious, I’ve been performing music since I was 4 years old. I don’t really feel nervous anymore. I just get an adrenaline rush,” junior Evan Summers said.
Although playing music in front of people can be nerve-racking, you can simply play alone. One of the band members strongly recommends that anyone should get into music.
“People should definitely get into music for numerous reasons. It can get you through the hard times. When you can’t put your thoughts into words, you can put them into notes,” junior Preston Aguilar said.
