Just because a student becomes a senior, doesn’t mean that they can’t be involved in school activities. Amy Gates is graduating this year and is going strong in the clubs and groups that she is involved in.
“I am involved in NHS, females empowered, interact club, and model UN. I also do broadcasting and EIP. I have been involved in Females Empowered since my freshman year, so it has been really interesting to see how the club grows and changes every year This year I get to serve as the vice president, and I mainly help our president organize fundraisers, meetings, service projects, and spirit weeks,” Gates said.
Although she enjoys all the things she’s involved in, she also likes to get out and do things outside of school too.
“Outside of school I love going to concerts! I am going to Kendrick and SZA in April and I’m super excited,” Gates said.
Gates has many interests inside and outside of school and enjoys a wide variety of activities including music, broadcasting, and teaching. She loves projects that make a difference in the school and the world.
“Right now I think my favorite thing is National Honor Society, because there is always something to do and we have such a large club, so it is really easy to get people involved and get projects off the ground,” Gates said.
She not only loves to be involved in clubs and extracurricular classes, but she also loves to see and hang out with her friends. Even the most dedicated students and people have to take break and socialize with some of their friends..
“My favorite thing at school is seeing my friends! We are all only on campus for a few hours a day since we’re seniors, so it’s great I can still see my friends in a few classes,” Gates said.
