Bonfire fun

While the weather is growing colder, more fall activities are becoming possible. One popular fall activity are bonfires.

“Bonfires are a great way to connect with your friends and just have a good time,” junior Chase Chambers said.

Bonfires are growing more popular for the teenagers. It’s cheap and easy way to entertain friends. Some teens even have a bonfire at their Halloween party.

“Bonfires are a blast! My favorite part is getting to hang out with all my friends,” freshman Grace Cantrell said.

A popular thing to do at a bonfire is sit around the fire, roasting marshmallows and telling spooky stories. The average time to have a bonfire is at 9 o’clock. Having it dark will make the bonfire turn a little spookier.

“You have to have the bonfire late. That’s when the best s’mores are made and the best scary stories are told,” Chambers said.

A disadvantage about bonfires is smelling like smoke after. The clothes you wear to the bonfire will smell like smoke after leaving.

“I love bonfires don’t get me wrong. But I hate smelling like smoke after. I have to take like 2 showers,” Cantrell said.

Dealing with fire, teens should have a parent helping them set it up.

“Bonfires are a great way to have fun. But be safe kids,” Chambers said.
